On Friday July 17 2009 the South South Region was formally inaugurated in a ceremony
chaired by the National President, Arc. Ifeanyi Odedo in the City of Port Harcourt
thus becoming the first region to be inaugurated. The Programme took place at the
National Office, a Portion of which will serve as the Regional and District Offices
for the host areas
Inauguration Preliminaries:The
former district office was rearranged to accommodate both the regional and district
offices– courtesy of the Regional Vice President. Arrangement was put in place to
provide meals and drinks for guests, which comprised National Officers, N.Ds, FRs,
CPs from the 3 districts in the region. A total of 81 persons were in attendance.
Inauguration Activities
The inauguration activities followed this order:
Programme Started by 3:pm with Mr. Festus Nwokafor The Regional Capacity Building
Coordinator serving as the MC. The Opening prayer was said by Mr. Andy Iwuanyawu
ND. The Programme had in attendance several Key National Officers viz; National
President – Arch Ifeanyi Odedo, National Vice President Capacity Building - Engr
Toks Obayan, National Vice President Conventions and Outreaches– Engr. Okeoma Agu,
National Secretary – James Ocholi SAN, National Treasurer – Mr. Dan Oku,, the General
Manager FGBMFI Nigeria Mr. Onoh O. Onoh and the hosting Regional Vice President
Engr Andrew Essien.
The essential items of the inauguration involved
Insight into the National President’s Vision /Address by National President, Inauguration
and prayer for the region, RVP made a presentation which focused on goals and targets
of the region for the next 3yrs Pledges and commitments were made and amount realized
was
N2,464,600.00.
